THE OVERVIEW
Michelle boards cats in her own home in Montgomery Village — no kennels, just a calm house and a lot of attention. The care was never the problem; being found was. Cat owners a few towns over were searching for exactly this and landing on big national directories instead. The site had to feel as warm as the service and show up first when the neighborhood went looking.
The challenge
Cat boarding is intensely local and intensely personal — people are handing over a member of the family, so they want someone nearby they can trust. The site had to do two things at once: feel calm and genuine enough to earn that trust in the first few seconds, and be built for local search so it actually reaches the people in Gaithersburg, Rockville, and the towns around them who are already looking.
Most of the competition is national booking platforms with deep pockets. Winning a specific place meant real local-SEO structure — a page for each town served, clean schema, fast mobile loads, and content shaped around how people actually search — not one generic homepage hoping to rank everywhere.

Local search from the ground up — a landing page for each town in the service area, structured data, fast phone loads, and copy written around what cat owners actually type. Inside the first 30 days it was ranking #1 across a lot of the area.
Warm enough to book
The whole thing feels like Michelle’s house — soft, calm, real photos and a real story (her cat, Leo, included) — so the trust is there before anyone reads a word, with a clear path straight to booking on Rover.
Made to keep ranking
A clean technical foundation and sensible page structure with room to add towns and content over time — so the search footprint keeps compounding instead of stalling after launch.
